Replacing Clutch Pedal Box

Broke my second clutch pedal box tonite and had to get my car towed home. Was wanting to have a go at replacing it myself. I know you need to get to it from the firewall side (master cylinder?) I had one replaced last year and now I will put in a modified box with heavier welds to make sure of things. I am running a heavy duty daikan clutch which wouldnt have helped things, and I must be pretty hard on the pedal to break it as the last pedal box I busted I had the stock clutch in.

Any thoughts on the exercise? Is it easy to do?

how do you drive your car!?!?? never heard of this happening! I've not done it, but it should be a straight forward job. You might not need to remove the brake booster / master cylinders, if you can get the peddles off the hangers.

I've had it happen. Usually leaves just enough pedal travel to get the car home.

You need to remove the instrument panel to get at a bolt holding the top of the box up in place.

thanks for the replies guys. I have got a tilt tray lined up for tomorrow morning to take it to my mechanic - I couldnt be fuct tooling around with it (the weather is too hot) and I dont have the right tools nor a hoist. Piece of mind. Gonna get it strengthened so it will be indestructible this time
