Al,

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to pull out unless somebody wants to lend me the cash!

Bloody bill this this month and all my money is gone.  Plus I have to pay for the prototype AFM to TURBO duct some time this week.

BASS OUT

BASS,

Do you know what the AFM to Turbo Duct is going to cost ?

If so, I'll pay for mine in advance. Would that help ????

Fat.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure exactly the cost of the ducts yet, and I don't want to take any money for them until they are prototyped and proven to fit all cars that I'm offering them for.

I think I should get slotted rotors before I get brake lines too.

Thanks again.

Hey Al, what's the latest?

I see that some people are now looking to pull out. Are we in danger of getting below 15 and this thing turning into a house of cards?

I didn't receive a PM from you on Friday either.

Any light you could shed would be greatly appreciated,

Adrian

Well this friday i will PM all interested parties and for those that want clutch lines i will let you know how much it will cost.

Friday is not a deadline as such.  On Friday i will post details of an account to transfer money into.  Once i have all payments i will buy a ticket to MEXICO :P.

Actually i do not see/handle any of the funds, which is pretty good, as now you are dealing direct with the guys at Maltech. :D

One question, why is the "November Special" on nissansilvia.com only $340 including postage? yet here it is $345 + P&H ?

;) Just hate it when it is time to produce funds and people post 5hit like that above, without finding out the facts first. FFS! the last i looked Skylines did not use the same brakes, suspension, etc as a Silvia. These are a far superiour engineered cars, if you want to fit Silvia lines on your 34, buy it from there. But Skylines use a 2 piece hose and a divider block for the front lines, hence extra manufacturing cost.

If you want to be petty, take it up with Steve at Maltech, i have organized this buy for the interest of the club, have nothing to personally gain, as i have already got my set 3 months ago, without the discount.

If you had simply compared the two RRP's you could have seen that Skyline lines are $430rrp and Silvia lines are $405rrp. Thus there is a $25 price differance and here you are only paying $11 extra.

Al, it's not the money I care about... I just asked a question why the prices were different for what I thought were a similar designed product. lighten up dude...

Al, it's not the money I care about... I just asked a question why the prices were different for what I thought were a similar designed product. I also was in no way implying you were benefiting from this group buy. lighten up dude...

YoooHoooo....Got mine on Friday and fitted up and bled no problem. These lines are exactly the same as stock lines with the brass block in them.

Al is 100% right on the fact that the Skyline lines are more costly to make with the additional block and extra swedgings(spelling). You can notice the differance immediately when you stand on the brakes...much harder pedal. I think my rubber lines must have been soft after 10 years.

Thanks Al for setting up the fantastic Group Buy and thanks Steve (Maltech) for being so quick with the lines and supply.

I know everyone that buys these lines will be happy with them

Thanks again Al

Ian

    • The trigger kit I have is similar to the one in the link below. While going through Facebook, I saw someone else mention a similar issue, and I’m starting to think this could be related to the crank gear itself. I understand these parts are CNC machined, but maybe some earlier versions or individual pieces might have slight inconsistencies—it just doesn’t look right in my case. https://www.facebook.com/share/16an8evZd9/?mibextid=wwXIfr I originally installed the crank gear using the thin OEM washer, but as shown in the attached photo, the timing belt walks very close to the edge. When I tried using a Nitto washer—which is thicker—it actually made the issue worse. The belt walks about 1mm off the front edge, which raises more concern about alignment.   I’ve gone through the full process of elimination:   The tensioner pulley and bolt are brand new and installed correctly. The bolt isn’t bent and is oriented properly. The back of the tensioner and the idler pulley are clean and seated correctly. The idler sits slightly more forward, which I understand is due to its design. I’ve experimented with both tight and loose belt tension, but it makes no difference. As soon as the engine runs, the belt immediately walks forward again—even if I reset it beforehand.     At this point, I’m considering replacing the crank gear with your Race Version 1 (12-tooth), but before purchasing, I wanted to ask:   Are you aware of any alignment issues when using this gear? Would this gear help keep the belt aligned correctly, or could the walking still occur? Does it work with a standard missing-tooth crank and rear washer? Is there any specific crank setup or install procedure required?     For reference, I’m not using a front washer, as the PRP crank gear seems to replace the need for one.   Looking forward to your advice.
    • Yep, looks that way. Never driven an E30 or R31 so I can only imagine
    • Yuh, My new R34 box is sitting on the workshop floor (in its large shipping box, which is a nice thing on its own), along with a front plate to convert to push clutch. There was no way I was interested in rebuilding my existing one. Was only partly interested in the risk of buying a used one. But, if you want a 2nd hander, I can point you to one in/near Melbourne at least. @Komdotkom has one that should be in good enough condition to be usable. I don't think it's in a for sale thread, you'd have to message him. @redzedhas one that definitely needs a rebuild.
    • I used to love going to Amaroo to watch the HQ series go for broke (eventually stopped due to lack of spare parts) and also the Porsche series.  It was so cool to back your car up to nearly the edge of the viewing barrier and party with your friends, having a bbq and alcoholic/non drinks. It was such a family/mates atmosphere
