Popping from exhaust at WOT?

I just had an fmic installed and when i give it full throttle it will start to pop after about 5000rpm. Wat could be causing it to do this? Is it a bad thing? My mods are as follows:

RB20DET

Turbo back 3" Exhaust

FMIC

POD

13psi (No boost controller...what the?)

No doubt it's coils/plugs breaking down.

Make sure you've gapped your plugs down to at least 0.8mm rather than 1.1mm. Other than that, do a search on the numerous threads about coil pack breakdowns.

Hey!

Is it backfire? You'll normally get alot of backfire when you have an after market exhaust. This is normal especially if you run boost. Happens after the fmic was installed as there is more pressure built up n released through the exhaust.

nah its not backfiring its more like popping/stutter, i did a search and it seems its either the plugs or the coil packs, does anyone kno if the ngk plugs bcpr6es are already gapped to 0.8mm?

The same thing hapened to me when i did the same mods to my 33 what it turned out to be was the ignition timing needed to be turned up... Just a thought.

Its misfiring. Just gap you plugs to at least 0.8mm will solve the problem.

i've changed the plugs to bcpr6es (0.8mm) and so far so good, havent given it a decent hit yet just waiting for fuel pump, but it seems to have disappeared...
