Crappy exhaust sound minimised

Hi guys

Being annoyed to hell over the horrible noise my car was making, i finally discoved a hole in the exhaust. It was on the weld that joins the pipe to the final flange going to the rear muffler. A bit of metal putty and 5 minutes of my time and it made a great difference. The transition from 2500 to 3000 rpm didn't sound as loud, and it was slightly quieter on idle.

was it a sound like someone banging a fork around in a empty baked bean can?

i used to have that sound (more like money in a tin for for me!) it turned out to be spit from welding the flange onto my extractors - dodgy exhuast place just left it in there. i just unbolted cat and vacuumed it out!
