hi

did not know this thread was here, a few questions and i will do my best to answer them.

Heads are stock. block has been o-ringed

PTR33. the rail pressure is 30psi up to 50psi rising rate reg

TRUST33. the curve is fat due to the cams it comes on hard at 3500rpm.

REDFC. talk to steve how the wolf differs in its fuel delivery than all other computers, it has only the six stardard injectors

BUSTER. Calm down, you are 100% right its not a shoot out dyno, it was run by Speedworks, i can recommend never taking your car there to get work done, the event organisers would not let me warm my car up, it went on the dyno cold Spped works promised to warm the car up and did not. "IDIOTS", it was in cold start mode when the power run was done. AFR was 10.5.1

Tell the young kids to buy a wolf buster if they keep busting them.

ROY. i think they are 370cc<- ask an expert please

Guiltytoy. Buy a wolf get a retune

mokompri. about 70% duty cycle, ask steve.

Morgs, just the six tiger

RNS11Z. I will post a dyno figure on a DD aproved dyno this week, have not run at the drags yet with old set up (414rwph on dd shoot out) i did 120mph. Street car every day driver

JAY. call some one who does.

I have never thought that my car would cause all of this, if you are in perth i will pay to put it on a dyno in shoot out mode 4 to prove to you but unless you are willing to come over how about a few more positives cut the negitives.

Thank you to SST.

Dynamix, GTS-t VSPEC, Roy for your positve comments

Speedworks, how people trust you with cars i dont know.

PM me with your munber if you want to discuss any of this

Regards

Tristan

We have a few GTS Lines with well over 400rwhp in shootout with stock injectors all of these cars can be demonstrated to any East coast expert that is in WA for any reason and as for batch fire? Well there is only a a few milliseconds between each cylinder firing so if you are on 100% duty the injectors are wide open batch fire or sequential and we do get the same HP per pot in sequential mode so that argument is out the window also.

Well done to tristan for all the dyno comps he has been on, By the way the last 4 dynos were all diffrent -Dynapac-Dyno dynamics-dynajet and Vane with dyno dynamics software and all went over 400rwhp but we did put a tough tune in for PAS this weekend.

one second, you had only done 120mph with 400rwhp ? what a shame.

shouldnt the question be why?

why would u want to use stock injectors when u know they are the weakest link and risking lots of money

whats $900 for some brand new 700cc nismo's

theres no way the stock injectors could sustain that power for very long, its gotta b a matter of time

damn.. you must be CUT .. cheer up now 310rwhp  :boohoo:

lol.. i think he has WI.

Yes well 230rwkw is nice... but i am just cut that someone else can get 511rwhp when I get told by my tuner that there is no way he is going to push the injectors anymore because the engine will explode.

What is WI ???

Good number Magic.

Do the RB25det's run a cold start injector ? I can't remember if they do or not... Just thinking that if they do, and your car was still in cold start mode, then the cold start injector (if there is one) would have been squirting away at the sametime. May explain a few things.

J

Yeh I agree with knore, what is $900 to achieve this power a bit more safely. Sounds a bit weird. The power difference from different dyno's is interesting too.

Very nice power anyways.

hahah Guilt Toy, you're my direct competition for a r33 gtst in newy, i got 230 rwkw too . Where you get your car tuned at? I'm hoping i see you @ some lights one day! *ps, raced a grey 33 gtst yesty on charlestown hwy off lights, had stock front bar cut out with FMIC*

Hi Magic1, well done you should be very pleased with the result.

Some things for the other readers;

There is no magic in ECU's, a 370 cc injector will flow 370 cc's at 36-38 psi with a light switch turning it on.

Increasing the rail pressure by (50/36) 40% results in around a 15% increase in fuel flow (the hydraulics engineers will correct me if I am too far wrong), so a 370 cc injector will flow (370 + 15%) 425 cc's. You need to be careful as the injector solenoid and spring may not be able to close the injector against 50 psi. This can result in stuck open injectors, hydraulic lock on an engine is not pretty.

If you increase the rail pressure to 50 psi, then you had better make sure you have a pump that can handle it, same for hoses and clamps. I have seen a pretty bad fire when the 40 psi rated fuel hoses spilt at 55 psi.

Watch the pressure rating of the pump (eg; Bosch 044 is rated at 73.5 psi). So if you run 50 psi rail pressure that means you only have (73.5 - 50) 23.5 psi for boost.

One of the things I have noticed with cars tuned for dyno comps is they rarely do 1/4 times commensurate with their power output. Regular readers will know I refer to "average power" (rather than "max power") as a superior indicator of performance (how fast a car really is). Some people prefer the terms mid range power or torque.

In closing, I will quote from the Motec technical journal;

Sequential Fuel Injection - Sequential means that each injector for each cylinder is triggered only one time during the engine's cycle. Typically the injector is triggered only during the intake stroke. True sequential injection requires the ECU to know not only where top dead centre is, but also which half of the cycle the engine is on. TDC on a 4 stroke occurs 2 times during the cycle, once on compression and once on exhaust. MoTeC references all timing events that occur within the ECU, to Top Dead Centre Compression. This generally requires an input on the engine's camshaft to provide the ECU with a SYNC signal. Once the ECU is synched, injection timing can be optimised to provide the most efficient mixing of fuel and air into the cylinder. Control of injection timing can lead to increases in midrange torque while decreasing emissions and fuel consumption.

:P

Magic1s Car makes around 415rwhp as a daily driver at 16PSI in shootout but we ran 20psi for the show but could not get to 500rwhp with this turbo but had the fuel but Dynapak dynos read higher than DDs.

We heard all your injector storys a year or two ago SK but please dont tell our injectors and pumps they wont last as they dont seem to know they cant last as they still are.

thats what i thought... So that means 415rwhp is 300rwkw well, near enough.

thats crazy. My GT30 (600HP) makes 270 on 16psi. I doubt a set of cams would get me the extra 30 im missin...

still, good power though all the same

380rwkw out of a GT30?? Which spec is it steve, or it a special one?

So when are these huge horsepower standard injector wolfs going to pull a 10 then steve? 511 rwhp is ample. Oh no quarter mile times are indisputable, we couldnt have that. Lets hope this one doesnt overboost/blow headgasket/bend rod/breakclutch/break gearbox/.

Hmm with some simple calculations of this super tune, the fuel economy must be awsome. Usually std rb25 inj run out around 370 rwhp max? But you can get 511 out of the same fuel or 138 % better, and you are saying this without huge fuel rail pressure etc etc, therefore i have deduced you are using some arcane magic on it, and this should also cause fuel economy to increase by 138 %, to around 7 litres per 100kms. WOW!

You mite have forged pistons, But when your stock injectors can't keep up at full noise, You won't have any pistons. I can guarantee it.

Run that car up another five times and see if you have any pistons left in your cylinders ?

The best I have seen with a very similar setup to that, with the GT35/40, at 16psi, with stock injectors is 240rwkw that’s with the injectors in over-rich mode. At 381rwkw is just asking for trouble.

As Sydney kid also said, Average power, I would like to see that car run over a 1/4mile, because that gives an indication of the cars actually power.

Ohhh yes Can you please post up a Dyno Graph ?

But still a good effort with that setup. good stuff : -)

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
