Well the car finally arrived in my driveway Thursday night after spending its first couple of weeks in oz in the importers back yard. It was absolutely filthy but i had a good lookin Trust intercooler sitting there that had to be thrown on ASAP!

So went out to the shops, got myself some straight 2 1/2" piping, 2 x 45 degree bends and 1 90 degree bend and i also had an assortment of stock pipes. $78. Then got some hose clamps from Repco (8) for about $23, some rubber joiners from the local import yard and some heat resistant spray $15 plus $11.

The piping still needs a bit of tidying up as the pipe which connects to the inlet side of the cooler isn't fitting properly and needs to be trimmed back a bit.

Pics basically spell out the rest. The laurel is white with a blue pearl. It looked a million bucks once i washed and polished it.

cooler looks good Mase, How come it took so long for you to get the car in your driveway?

I still owed a few dollars on the car and although john from import bitz said i could take it home whenever, i didn't want to take it until i'd paid every cent.

Summoner, the car was bought to my house on a tow truck and it has been in the garage getting work done to it ever since. Unfortunately i am still up for compliance and rego before i can go cruising in it. So it probably wasn't me chief.

However, i will be going out to the skid pan on the 14th of November either on Tow truck or some way for a bit of fun!!

Adrian, yeah i was meaning to ask you what was happening with yours?? Is the rb25 in it yet? I drove past the other day and pointed the laurel out to my bro and he was shocked cuz it was the only other one he'd seen apart from mine.

The car as it stands now has

malpassi fuel reg

bosch 040

fmic

3" stainless exhaust with a very dented cannon many thanks to the tow truck

front and rear strut braces

Tein HR's

cusco 2 way lsd

quickshifter

aluminium diff cradle bushes

aftermarket clutch and fly

few niggly things like nardi wheel, handbrake etc

The seat looks like stockish looking trim, but holds onto you real tight so im not sure what the deal is.

ETA for the road, about 2 months unfortunately as im poor now!!!

cheers

Jays

yeah the 25det is in now, only picked it up on sat morning, just putting a few kays on it with a trade plate to make sure the engine is okay (so far so good, seems to be a goodie) gotta save some money up for a cooler and piping, mod plate (thank goodnes its complied) and then shes ready to register!

ahh nice!!! Wanna lend me that trade plate!!!! hehe. I need to get to skid pan on the 14th but im trying to avoid spending $150 in tow truck fees for a $100 dollar skid pan.Gonna see what qld transport can do for me.......

The rb25 will be tuff when finished. I think i need to get a decent sized turbo on mine as she's a bit heavy!!!

lookin great chief, you know what im gonna say though...... Lower the damn thing!!!

I'm sure you have plans for it though.

I found the Tein suspension sat lower in the laurel compared to in the s13. Heavier car i guess is the reason.

Got any interior pics??

yeah its getting lowered after reg and a new exhaust its a great car drives well.

the laurel is much more luxurious than the cef. I love the electric seats and the leather is just so pimp :D

interor pics here http://www.meggala.com/mylaurel.htm

hmmmmmmmm leather hmmmmm pillarless

nice trim in there.. almost show trim to start with.. just needs a redo and bling!

The Laurels looks almost like a JZX90 chaser from some angles I reckon.

Not a bad idea importing as many as possible before the end of the 15 year rule... If I only had more capital I'd be doing exactly the same :D

There are a few Cefiro's I see in QLD now.. and a really nice pimped up purple one right near my place..

    • Hi all   what short shifter do you use on your skykine r34?   my synchronous does have a problem and i was getting huge delay and grinding sound between 2nd and 3rd, did put shockproof red heavy stuff and it is great now/ no issues   would in your view short shifter screw this up?   people seems to suggest/ use cube short shifter and there is standard and premium. Seen review of premium as much better and less play. Thoughts?
    • Yeah, there's a bit of a density and friability difference between pebbles and any of those other things. Silicone will definitely float in oil and so will be mobile enough to move around. Although, again, if it is upstream of the filter it really shouldn't go any further. I would only ever worry about silicone when it is in places downstream of the filter. Upstream of the pickup is a whole 'nother matter. We've all seen what that does. I have seen the most abominable crap settled out in industrial gearboxes, trunnion lube systems and the like, without any sign that any of it has touched anything in the machine. Just chilling in the bottom, waiting for the inevitable operator error that causes the whole machine to need to be dismantled for repairs.
    • I have seen enough fire and brimstone from TSBs about roloc disks causing spun bearings that foreign object contamination is top of mind for me. For sufficiently large particles you might be right but usually it’s a distribution of debris and some of the larger particles can also break down and shed bits. If local shops report RTV contamination in a turbo is enough to wreck them I’m taking zero chances if I can help it.
