Squeaking HELP!

Well, as soon as you fix 1 problem you get another 1! :bananaman AHHHH! :bananaman

At low speeds my car seems to sqeak! i'm not sure whether it's coming from the brake or the steering? it usually happens under braking while i'm turning into driveways and such? I've recently had my wheels balanced and aligned and i'm due for a service.

Anyone got any ideas!? :grouphug:

does it happen when you brake and/or turn without going up a gutter /driveway etc?

If it seems to mainly happen when going up a driveway, or over a speed hump etc.. could be something to do with the suspension, what does the squeek sounds like?

Does it sound like a bolt/nut undo'ing from being really tight?

if so maybe a nut/bolt not tight enough etc... play around with it, see if you ca narrow it down.

no it's just happens when i brake. only sometimes when i turn without braking. I think it might have something to do with the brakes

is it more like a squeal rather than a sqeak?

maybe some joints have gone dry and need a bit of lube?? could be a couple of things

check your brakes as the stock pads will have scratch tabs on them so when you brake lightly or turn they squeak to alert you need a pad change. Also, if the pads are ok, try shoving a garden hose onto the disc/caliper and give them a good wash out. This will get rid or the built up brake dust which can also cause squeaks. The tabs should squeak louder in reverse. also don't do the hose thing when the brakes are hot. make sure the car has sat for a while.

haven't had it checked out yet as i've been studying for exams but i reckon it's coming from the front suspension. Is this possible. It only started happening after the wheel balance. (I was there when they did it)

yeah, as the suspension is not used to being that low when they jack it up so it can drag in all the dirt around the bush and it's usually the upper control arm inner bush, I've had to do mine and two of my mates twice now. It sounds like there's a DJ with a turntable under your car.

okay.... i fianlly fixed it... it was the right control arm was loose (phew... it coulda been worse)
