alright ... i know this is a austrilan skyline forum, but i wasn't able to find a U.S skyline forum. I am about to come in possession of a R33 GTS-T Series II, www.japimportsusa.com is doing the paper work on the car right now and registering it in the U.S. and since i am a friend of the owner, and because they need a back up for their mirage that's being converted to evo 5 and prepped for rally, he is willing to go for a straight across trade for my 04 WRX with helix up and down pipe, borla hush cat-back, perrin crank pulley, and Tein FLEX Coilovers. i'm wondering what you guys think? .. o and the cars will be imported to the U.S via legal actions, it's gonna be registered when i get it. I will be one of only 72 R33 owners in the U.S :P so i was just wondering first if you guys know of a U.S skyline forum like this one here that i can go to. and second if there's anything i need to look out for and check when i see the car next week. im a noob when it comes to skylines, buh i just couldn't pass up this deal. here's the link to the car im getting it should be the 5th car down on the page here: http://www.japimportsusa.com/Nissan.html alright guys thanks for the help :bananaman

How much is your WRX worth there?

How much is this R33 worth there?

Are you doing a LHD conversion or can you drive it as a RHD?

It would be good to own an R33 in the states since they are so rare, but also means finding someone to work on it, and trying to source parts may be a lot harder than your WRX.... that and its 8 years older than your WRX... Don't belive the miles on the car either, it is probbaly a lot more

What do you want the car for? racing? daily driving? dragging? etc...

well .. i've dumpped 3k usd into my rex... most expansive was the tein flex coilovers, i'd say with the millage i can get around 21-22k for it at most. and the skyline, is listed to sell at 38k, buh since i a good friend of his, .. and he want my car =X. he's gonna do a straight across trade. the guy owns a junkyard in japan, that's why he's able to get these cars, and also i want it for drift/autox/circit ... gonna go all out on this baby. and as far as parts go, i can get everything from the guy im getting the car from since he also imports cars. and if you guys dont mind about me being here.... or if you know of a U.S skyline forum, let me know :( thx

P.S It's still gonna be RHD, which's gonna be a hassle when i go to get some micky D or when i pay for bridge toll. i was thinkng of one of those toy hands and put tape on it :D just for fun

i'm still stuck on wether i should get it or not, buh i am going up to reno once again in two weeks to actually look at the car and decide. before that i have to get a reliable commute car. *sigh* this is turning out to a be a real hassle. i need to find the insurance for this thing too. O, and if you guys can give me any info on this car, since im really noob to it, it'd be great. displacement, turbo code, engine code, stock hp & torque, stock 1/4 mile time. any of these information would be great and thanks in advance guys.

Good call man, I honestly wouldn't even take a chance with that guy. No way would I put a '04 WRX on the line for a car that I most likely wouldn't even be able to get.

FYI I'm an American myself and plan on getting a WRX when I return stateside in a couple years, I'll miss my Skyline but the WRX is still a great car and if I were you I'd hold on to the one you have.
