Cops know - everyone is innocent :(

But yes. It would be interesting Reidles - especially if you have insight into the HWP operations. As I understand it (and as most laws) there's the law of the police and law of the lawyer. So sometimes what goes down on the street isn't always right and if you have the money can be thrown out at court.

On the other hand I'm sure alot goes down in court that wouldn't be brought up on the street either.

I got pulled over by a speed camera operator before...and lectured about my speed, but he said he couldn't prove anything cause he was on his own? Good admission!

But I did point out the fact; the reason I overtook him, at what appeared to be a great speed, was because he swung out of a side street and cut me off on the main road and I didn't feel like plowing into him.

I only have insight for some operations and rbt locations for my area only. But wouldn't be in my best interests to tell everybody because that would defeat the purpose. Of course if i come across or hear of a major defect operation for example i will post a message to warn everybody, even though i am immune to it, because i know how annoying a defect can be.

For all your info i can possibly assist with things in the Hurstville, Blakehurst, Beverly Hills, Kingsgrove, M5 East from Beverly Hills towards city, Princes Hwy towards cronnulla from Kogarah and the general southern regions.

Cheers

gR33ddy as far as what you can and cant have, its completely up to you. Technically anything different from the stock specifications is classed as a defect. All mods should be ideally engineered to pass road regulations (But u wouldn't waste your time). Most police will look for the most obvious defectable parts on the engine ie. large turbo, fmic, chrome piping and BOV's. If you modify a vehicle try and do it with boltons that dont stick out and u will probably get away with it. Then again if you are really concerned about it, spend a fortune and get mods engineered and keep papers in the glovebox. This way you dont have a problem.

I have many obvious engine and vehicle modifications on my vehicle but unlike the rest of you, i dont get the pleasure of being hassled.

I believe a cop must follow you for 'x' km's before they can guesstimate you as speeding (I think X is about 100m, i'll ask mum this wkend when she comes home).

Ive heard something along the same lines. Is your mum a cop??

I was going down to the south coast for a holiday on monday and unfortunatly, this means going through liverpool which is a cop defect magnet.

Never had a cop ask about my car before, but as luck would have it, i got pulled over for rbt and then the cop told me to pull over because he was going to defect my exhaust. I was with another car load of people in a corolla and my car was full of bags and fishing reels etc. In the end, I think he realised that he wouldve ruined my holiday, so he told me he wasnt going to defect me, fined me $104 and told me to go put a silencer on it.

Sucks because i live opposite of a police station and they dont give a crap, but i guess its better than a defect. So my moral of the story is, im going to change the exhaust, pay the fine and never drive anywhere close to liverpool at all during holiday periods! :D

He basically heard the car at idle and said it was too loud. He fined me for 'insufficient silencing'.

I suppose i could dispute it because how would he know its too loud if it wasnt tested, but id rather just forget about it.

If you dont dispute it and try and clear your name then it will always be on your record.

Thats one of the reasons why I took the speeding fine to court. From now on I will always question my rights if police are trying to get me woth something.

    • Ok so no 4cyl clutch... Yeah it is a factory manual. So if iam correct i need clutch and flywheel too? I can use something that suits something like R32 GTST?   EDIT: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224291042776 Is this ok?   EDIT2: i maybe forget to mention this(dk how important it is) but the trans will be behind RB25DET NEO(iam doing swap) It will be there for a little while. Iam planing to do bigbox or BMW tranny..
    • You're probably right about that one. Thanks for your suggestions, I hope I don't need a new 3rd brake light. Although wiring issues might arguably be worse. Right now I'm in the midst of a turbo removal because of my oil leak, other problems are going to have to wait for now.
    • Hell, I know that much. So far I just put it off as "part of the deal".
    • I removed the head expecting to find broken and bent valves, but instead found number 1 at TDC and cylinder 2 at the top of its cylinder stroke as well, thought that was weird and proceeded to push cylinder 2 back down until it either bottomed out on its other piston half or the conrod either way we found the issue kind of,  now to remove the engine and see how the block looks, hopefully its just the top off a piston.
