Worse than the stock plenum? you joking right....?

I have had this talk with 2 workshops already, the greddy plenum isnt really need unless ur chasing high hp numbers (400rwhp+) but like croat said im getting it main to reduce piping and the time it takes to do another jobs

also, like u said to me once Sk, that the gtr plenum flows better than the greddy plenum is tottal Bs.

2 set-ups (both the same trubo etc) one running a greddy plenum (rb25) and one running stock gtr plenum (gtr) and the rb25 made more power on dyno and it also had a much better curve

just my 2cents

i have an issue of zoom with the 8th sin supra on da front and they proove on dyno figure the rb20 plenum out does the gt r plenum doesnt make sense to me sorta confusing actually

but i can scan the dyno if ya doubt

Quote "at serious boost levels 1.2 bar the stock manifold made power then the gt-r manifold.this goes against everything we have ever found and most of what has ever been written"

hi this might help some of u's, the nissan infinity throttle body fits straight up to the GReddy plennum. these throttle bodies are 80mm id and can be baught second hand for $450-$550 from jap wreckers. a new one from nissan will cost about $1500. i've got a GReddy plennum and who ever tells you a stock one is better is playing with it. The only problem with the plennum is that it makes it hard to get to the oil filter from the top of your car. i have a oil cooler and remote filter which makes life allot easier. servicing your car on a hoist is no problem though. you's wont regret buying a plennum, good luck men.

guys, the plenum isn't for a power increase!!!!!!!!! don't confuse yourselfs, from what i have read up on the plenum, it's is for better and apparently more even airflow through the plenum compared to the stock plenum.......

adrian :)

true, but zoom probably did the comparo on a stock car where a plennum upgrade would make bugger all differance. i'd like to see the differance between the two on a flow bench. A more even flow = cheap reliable power. like any thing else, if it's on it's own the results are much less noticable. you get bugger all out of an exhaust mod, but combined with other mods it makes a differance.

you are correct about the sub zero plennum. the thing to be carefull of is fabricated plennums are usually constructed from sheet metals which are a hell of a lot thinner than a cast item such as the GReddy plennum. i,ve seen quite a few fabricated plennums and they all have been good (work well and look the part) but a few of them cracked, due to heat, pressure or because the welding process. (welding can make the materials britle hence cracked welds or beside the welds)
