Accessories not working

Just changed the battery since old one died. I happened to have hooked the terminals the wrong way around for a seconds, until i realised and swapped them back :bonk:

Anyways the car starts as usual but the air con, radio, clock, brake lights etc dont seem to be working even though the car is running.

As soon as i remove the battery the car dies. IIRC the car was able to run, even if i removed the battery?

Anyone know whats going on exactly?

check your fusebox... you may of fried a few if certain things arnt working.

Also your alternator comes to mind

Sounds Like a fuse or two

Check them first

just call the NRMA if in sydney, or equivalent if anywhere else.

they will check the alernator

i just replaced the MAIN fuse and everything is back to normal except the headunit. Is there a seperate fuse for that?

never disconnect battery whilst car is running

it will cause the alternator to be unregulated and damage to many components can result

the radio will have a sperate fuse yes
