Qn: Factory Immobiliser on R34 GTT???

Can anyone please tell me if an R34 GTT comes standard with an imobiliser?

Just Cars insists I have a minimum 2 point immobiliser to agree to insure me.

Are you saying you dont plan on fitting at least a 3 point immobiliser alarm anyway?

The inbuilt immobiliser (if it exists on the GT-t - not sure) does not count anyway because the Just Cars clause states that it must be an "Australian standard 2 point immobiliser". The inbuilt system has not submitted to meet Australian standards.

I dont think there is one that is standard. And iI would be looking at getting a 3 poiunt immobiliser anyway if i were you.

The GTR has one. It worked in co-ordination with a small chip inside the key. Look at the GT-t key, does it have a red insert in the top?

hmm i never got the standard key when i got my car... just a copy and a nismo key... but the copy was a nissan key still and they both look like any other key to me...

Hmm, ok. Is there a particular brand of 3 pt immobiliser to go for (or AVOID!)?

What do they set you back, & does the OZ govt still chip in for this like they used to? - Maybe that was just for older cars.

Three brands come to mind:

- Mongoose

- Black Widow

- Brant

Costs are about $450 - $800 installed depending on what features you get.

Found that my mongoose one used to be TOO protective...had a few instances where it totally immobilised!!!

Also found that it started to ignore one of the sets of buttons....was OK for the first year...then would only disarm with the key that armed it???

Got fairly annoying.
