SeriesIIGTST
Hi Running a blitz dual SBC spec S on my bro's car, all wired up correctly cause i've got the same controller in my car so i know how it works but for some reason, I can't get it to respond to RATIO inputs. ie, ratio 50 = 0.75bar, ratio 60 = 0.75bar. Sometimes I can get slightly higher ie (0.82bar) and the best i've ever seen is 0.91bar but can't consistently reproduce these results. Now, we have no vacuum leaks, i've tried taking boost pressure input to the solenoid from the turbo housing itself as well as from the manifold, both result in exactly the same problem. For those of you that aren't familiar with this EBC, there are two settings, gain and ratio. Gain is like a response type setting (ie, how fast it builds boost) and ratio is the amount of boost with higher ratios = higher boost. Therefore, higher gain = quicker boost and higher ratio = more boost so setting both these high results it big boost very quickly, well that's the theory. We've done countless "tests" playing with Ratio settings as well as gain settings but no combination seems to get us any higher bost. I know on my car, if i wind ratio up to something stupidly high, i boost well over a bar and there doesn't appear to be a limit to how hard i can push mine as far as the EBC is concerned. Does this sound like actuator prematurely opening? It's the only thing i can think of. The EBC is brand new and we have switched solenoids from my car to his and it works fine on mine so it's not that. HELP!! SeriesIIGTST
Thanks for all the replies :bs!: Turns out it was the actuator opening early due to the mounting not being solid enough (modified turbo). We strengthened up the mount and it's all good now.
