non-GT-R r33 conversion to GT-R

I was wondering if it is possible to convert a non gtr skyline (r33) to a gtr?If it is possible,how difficult is the undertaking? I live in the u.s. and I have a hookup on skyline motors from japan and hope to get a r33 from japan and do the engine swap/conversion here.

The main reason for this is that the body shell underneath the car is different, making it pretty much impossible to fit the parts.

It *may* be possible to convert a GTS4?? Search the forums for details, but I think it's about as cheap to buy a GTR.....

Without going through the little list of parts that you would keep from a gtst in converting it to a gtr...you honestly might as well start off with a shell of a R33 and work your way from there. if you want the 4wd system that the gtr has then you need a hell of alot of parts, if you just want to do a engine conversion then its pretty simple other than that i wouldnt bother unless you have alot of time on your hands and either you or someone else would be doing the work for dirt cheap then its not worth it.

its been done with gts4s...advans purple thing for eg...but not with a gtst or gts i dont think...

how much would it be to get a gt-r r33 w/ a blown/bad motor and then ship it to the u.s.?

hey if you want your car to weight 300kg more just add lead to the boot...no need to add all the GTR bits

In all seriousness we have found a strange phenominum where the further north you go, the faster a gtst goes in comparison to a gtr. since you are in the northern hemisphere the gtst should be heaps quicker. see this thread for details: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ht=gtr+gtst+sbs
