not bad but if u really wanted to cool your air the best option is to rig up a spray on the intercooler. i think that if u mix mentholated spirits and water it has a better cooling effect. i spotted a boost controller that had an output that could be adjusted to send a voltage to a sprayer at desired boost. could be your next project art :P

Or, you could contact Alan (mearcat) for one of his quality kits that do it all for you

and I want to second the above misgivings, taking that much meat out of your bonnet will not be doing good things for its structural integrity, and you would want a cheap source of replacement panel filters to replace all the ones that are going to be destroyed by water :ermm:

some valid points there fellas,

as its not a finished project im sure theres nothing that cant be tweaked.. :P

ive got a couple of baffles that can fit top and bottom in the air flow, and and i figure where the ali meets the plastic is a good point to drain any that runs up that far,

along with a small lip on the top of the scoop to prevent water being pushed up, and maybe a couple of holes at the base of the scoop to drain any collected water there, all part of a project ironing out the wrinkles, wouldnt be worth doin any thing if it was too easy...lol

with regards to the bonnet strength,

there is not a real issue there, there is a lot of steel in the front edge, and as most of the cut metal is folded back up under the front edge and still adds to the strength,

the ribbing that is glued to the surface gives a lot of ridgidity to the flat surface, its not quite as brutal as the pics make out, only a small section,

more pics of the mods to follow,

PS... I've got 3 Stagea Series I guides with scoops in stock :D

I am keen to get one of these and would pay postage to Auckland NZ if someone has one to spare.

Does the scoop deliver air directly into the standard airbox? I am planning to ditch my pod and put the standard box in place. [...to make it quieter and to supply cooler air - I understand that with the proper (pipercross?) filter the amount of air supplied will not be less than with the pod - can anyone confirm?]

Can anyone using the pipercross filter confirm that this is a washable type and that it fits in the standard filter housing?

Thanks
