B0oStEr
The GTT wheels rub on the front R32 typeM calipers. The way I see it I've got four options. 1. Fit a 3mm spacer to the front. (Probably not legal) 2. Shave 2mm off the edge of the calipers where they touch the wheel. ( $0 Quick and easy. They seem to have plenty of thickness but I don't like the idea of bodgying my calipers) 3. Have 2mm machined off the back of the wheels to clear the calipers. (Need to do 4 wheels so I can swap wheels front to back) 4. Fit R32GTR or R33 GTSt rotors and calipers.($$$) What do you think is my best option? dangerous_daveo
So the GTR rotors and calipers are smaller? As in thinner? That dont make sence to me, can someone explain that (I have spacers and little to no clearance with my r32 brakes) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/55589-r34gtt-wheels-wont-fit-r32/#findComment-1083142 Share on other sites
B0oStEr
The TypeM caliper is too close to the centre part of the wheel not the outer rim part so the larger GTR rotor requires the caliper to be positioned further out giving the centre of the wheel more clearance. C_DawG
Just got the spacer, 3mm is nothing to worry about. Plus a spacer doesnt result in permanent change to anything. B0oStEr
my friend has 34 gtst rims on his 92 mspec and didnt have any hassels I wasn't aware of a brake caliper difference between 89 and 92 Mspec but there could be. Has he had his wheels off to check for scrape marks as they don't hit by much? B0oStEr
I don't think a 3mm spacer would cause a problem with stud length. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/55589-r34gtt-wheels-wont-fit-r32/#findComment-1084794 Share on other sites

(ie my problem, there aint much meat there) New, higher strength slightly longer studs are about $2 each.
