Hey all,

I searched and there wasn't really anything that suits what I'm going to ask.

Is it possible on a stock turbo that has bush bearings to be able to convert this to ball bearings without replacing the whole turbo (ie having the stock turbo using ball bearings instead of bush)?

Is it a common thing to do or is it mechanically impossible, and or dodgy?

Sorry I'm not too much of a guru on turbos all i know is boost = power :D.

Thanks a heap in advance

If you can put Garret compressob on Mitsu turbo, you may be able to put Mitsu wheels on BB core. Theres more to a turbo then it simply being BB...be sure the wheels you are trying to hold onto are worth it as some of the newer Garret wheels are smaller but reportedly floww better.

Any help?

Leb, i wouldn't think there's much point to just upgrading it from a bush to a BB without changing wheels of machining out comp/exhaust housing at the same time. High flowing a stock turbo is pretty much changing it from a bush to a BB with diff wheels for better flow aswell.

And also, boost doesn't = power, efficiency and flow = power so ask around about that before you upgrade without better wheels because set wheel sizes have set flow efficiencies.

Good luck
