dude, he is making the money on the postage .... the postage doesn't really cost US$30 per piece - I am sure it is significantly less - he is avoiding Ebay charges (as they charge a percentage of the purchase price as commission).

The signs are fairly large, so even tho they are light they go by cubic weight!!

Is it sent air freight?

don't know, I don't really give a crap, as long as they're here within 3 weeks and they arrive safe and sound!

fyi buyers - I paid shipping insurance on them too, for peace of mind.

Order is in, I have paid for them all, and am waiting for him to notify me the shipping EMS numbers for tracking. Will post them up when available.

also fyi, he said you can change the light bulbs in the head unit and change the colour of the signs. I am not sure what type of bulbs these are, but hopefully he will let me know or send some spares.

Andrew

the payments have now all cleared and the guy is making the signs as we speak. We (I) got absolutely ripped on the Paypal A$ to $US conversion - they converted at US76.5c to the A$ (should have been around 80c to the A$). So it turns out everyone's orders are $5 more expensive. But I not gonna lose too much sleep over it. If you wanna give me the extra $5 each when you next see me at a cruise then that would be nice ..... if not, it's not the end of the world.

Will let you all know shipping/tracking numbers when available.

My signs arrived today! They look pretty good, but one doesn't work. Hopefully it is just something simple, but haven't had a chance to look yet. Instead of cutting and joining wires, I just got a travel adaptor from the hardware. Works like a dream (on the sign that works anyway)

Thanks for all the time you put into this Andrew. Your a champ. Finally my lounge room looks like a cheesy pub! :)

P.S. I'll give you the extra money owing when I see you. Thanks again, Ant. :)

Hey guys

my signs arrived on tuesday but ive been away at my gfs so i didnt know until i got home today

they looks sweet :P

just need to go get sum adapters now

btw andrew how much do i owe u?

got mine today too - and the email from the supplier giving shipping/tracking numbers :P

Mine are sweet as, I got 6 in total and they all work and are cool. One had the bulb dislodged (maybe like yours Ant), so I opened her up, pulled out the light assembly and put the globe back in. Works perfect now! Fyi, you can buy the bulbs around the place apparently, so if you prefer a different colour it is an easy fix.

Don't worry about the cash Kamikazee - it is too hard for the sake of $5. I just made the comment cos I am likely to catch up with the other fellas sooner or later. I just forgot Paypal give such a shitty exchange rate!

And don't bother with buying an adapter - just cut the end off and rewire a new plug on the end - 2 minute job and much cheaper. You can buy plugs from Woolies, Coles etc.

Hope you all enjoy your signs!!

Can you post up a picture of what they look like lit up next to something, so we can see the actual size of em?

I went into a new bar world shop last night looking for something similiar but all they had were shitty little globe type lights which said crap like bar open, and they were selling for $50.

Luckly these are coming from America otherwise if they were sent from anywhere in Asia customs would have checked em all out.

these are actually sent from china - or so it says on mine

den these are about 30cm long and bout 15cm tall (plus the metal bit at the top)

I will look for these when i am in hong kong in 2 weeks time.

Hopefully i can post some back to myself in Aus while there.

    • I agree on doing some better than factory pistons, rods, and oil pump. For anyone using the vehicle on the road, I don't get why everyone wants big cams. The stock cam profile, with some more lift would be mint for road usage. Everyone going big cams and then wondering why it isn't as responsive in traffic, when they've shifted the torque curve upwards an additional 1000RPM. Make torque, at lower RPM. Sure it's not as cool as claiming "500KW" and revving it to 8,0000RPM, but that same torque 2,000RPM earlier... Then you don't need the extremely high end pistons and rods, and blah blah blah.
    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
    • February update 🙂 We managed to get the very last 1/18th "Extra Scale" cars stock available from bookstores in Kyoto. These are actually the last ones and will not be restocked again! Hachette Collections Japan have not decided on a release date for these or other models in the series, so for the time being these are all there are available new.  These are showing up on Yahoo auctions at inflated prices already (especially the Celica and NSX) so get yours now at a very reasonable price before they disappear!
