Hi guys, i think my R33 GTS-T has entered the twilight zone..

I was driving home from work last night and after a bit i noticed my boost gauge ( stock gauge ) was sitting on zero pressure ( middle of gauge ), and i was like WTF so i pulled over and checked the pressure sensor and the tube coming from the intake plenum was spilt where it connects to the sensor, i was like ok - that sux so i snipped the cracked bit of tube and reconnected it .

so i started the car and was like cool the boost gauge is working..... hey... thats not quite right, instead of reading -7 when at idle it was in the middle between 0 and -7.

i was like ok that could be cause i cut the tube and its a little bit more taught now or something like that, so its not gettin an acurate reading ? but i dont know im getting some more tubing today so i can fix it up properly.

and thats cool, but im a bit freaked out this moring, i was driving out from my house and was like shizen, usally when the engines cold my oil pressure hangs round that bar between 4 - 8 kg/cm then when the engine is warm it drops to a bout 4 and sits there happily while im driving.

but this morning i take off and was watching the pressure gauge and it was reading 4 kg right at the start and haging a bit below that when i was off the gas.

im a bit worried, i dont have a clue whats happening at the moment - ive only had my beloved GTS-T for a few weeks and i dont know too much about the rb25, anyone got any ideas on whats happening ?

it doesnt feel like its down on power, another observation ( not sure if its normal or not ) i was checkin the engine bay when i got to work to see if there was anything that look hella wrong like oil spewing everywhere or a small forest fire.

it all looked ok, i could hear a hissing noise like escaping gas, not sure if it was just some normal venting at idle or whatever ? - i need to get a service manual.

Anyhelp would be fantastic guys, thanks heaps - ill do some more testing at lunchtime today

Well i can provide you with what my cars readings on cold, warmed up idle and full boost oil pressure readings

cold = 7

warmed up idle = 3

driving warmed up = 4 to 5

boost = 6 to 7

I wouldnt be too worried about your oil pressure readings just check ur levels maybe? when was ur last service.. my oil pressure use to stay on 4 all the time...when i did my oil change it sort of follows my rev meter when i idle till i hit boost.

Do you have access to an aftermarket boost gauge, to get a second reading or a oil pressure meter for a 2nd reading? i have heard of the 33 cluster playing up and being in accurate?

However u did check ur engine bay and their no oil spitting out anywhere then it should be ok.

Id go to a mechanic asap and try not to drive it in boost if ur that worried.

Thanks for that, yeah those oil pressure readings sound good, like my car was exactly the same yesterday morning.

i was just a bit worried when this morning after always seeing the cold oil pressure up around 7 - i kicked her over and drove off and it has dropped down to 4 kg cold.. ill see if i can borrow an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

I used Mobil 1 5w40 Full Synthic for my last oil change 2 weeks ago .

i found this post - i should check it as well , but what does a rocker hose look like ?

my 30det does this also,crimped rocker hose once and lost oil pressure at idle,scary stuff

the pcv valve (just back from vvt solinoid on inlet side of motor) is plumbed into the inlet manifold ,at idle ur motor is like a NA and is sucking air into the engine ,the plenum is under vacuum until boost is applied
