Guest RedLineGTR
Okay, I’ll get to my problem in the simplest way I can: Situation: I have found a FMIC that i like with all the pipes any everything i need and for a good price. Problem: One of the return pipes from the intercooler was painted and after some rocks have chipped it away over time you can see the metal, which looks like the texture of Galvanised Steel which i think is the case, it is not rusting anywhere at all which i believe is renowned for galvanised steel from what I remember from my high school days. Issues: Wondering if the piping would still be okay to use?? Since i believe the pipe had been replaced with this Galvanised Steel piping as compared to what it would have come from the factory like (ARC brand intercooler). It seems to be mandrel bent and looks fine except for the paint coming off. - Should i keep the piping or get it remade by a shop in something like aluminium or stainless steel??? - Will the pipe rust someway on the inside??? (Or am i thinking about mild steel??) - How would i go about re-painting it?? Sand it down?? And then get some high temp paint?? - Any issues in using this piping for the intercooler??? Instead of something like aluminium? Thanks For Your Time.
