fane
its harder to sell any car when its close to 100thou its because of the timing belt and major service if the car has been done then good but if it hasnt then you will have to get a service done that will probably cost you ~$1k because of the labour involved in changing the timing belt....also it can be higher and lower than that depending what other stuff may need changing, brake disks, pads, stuff like that... G0DF4Th3R
to me, the 100k mileage means fark all if the car has been well kept and maintained.. as long as all servicing has been carried out as required.. and compression is good... and car is in good condition for its age.. then mileage shouldnt matter so much esp if its 120k.. not like its 400k taxi mileage Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/55685-urgent/#findComment-1084780 Share on other sites
ix9
100k is the old fabled stupid "dont touch this car" attitude. over 100k is fine as bam said, if it's been properly maintaned. The nissan engines can last a lifetime, regardless of it's redline life. I service my car religiously every 4000k's and its never missed a beat Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/55685-urgent/#findComment-1085079 Share on other sites
Gav
The RB26 in my R went bang (actually "clunk shudder-shudder clunk") before 100k. Service, abuse and just plain luck all come into it. Some basic checks like compression checks, oil in the IC piping etc should give you some indication. G0DF4Th3R
yeah thats abt right if its just timing belt and labour for it.. usually the major service is 1k includes a whole lot more Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/55685-urgent/#findComment-1087921 Share on other sites
skyzerr33
yeah the water pump replacement and labour for it adds to the cost might just go with the belt change as it is considerably cheaper.
