I have always wondered why I don't see GTR's with one pipe off each turbo back to each side. Why not?

2 x 21/2" would have to be better than 1 x 3" wouldn't it as well as the better breathing etc. fair enough there would be a bit of weight extra, but it would look cool too.

There are some around, but they exit next to each other, not on opposite sides. I don't think there is enough room for this. I believe that HKS and ARC make these twin pipe exhaust systems for GTR's.

I have also seen a gtr with twin pipes all the way from turbo to muffler, and like NXTIME saw, at the end they exit next to each other..

it was a nice stainless system i saw it when the car was up on a hoist, not sure where the guy would have got it from...

my friend (NOTGTS that was at MAS) has/well had.. temporarily off for canary and migrane reasons ..... twin 3inch pipes off the cat to the rear. .. no mufflers but kinda like the one in the thumbnail above.

and yes its ****n loud.

my assumption is because its a straight six so all exhaust outlets are on one side of the engine, therefore it's easier and more efficient to just merge the two front pipes in to one pipe to the rear. If it was a V6/8/whatever, then exhaust outlets would be on either side of the engine, so possible easier to run exhausts straight through from each side. If you get what im saying.
