ok i have a question about fuel tanks and fuel pressure...

when you open the tank, on all cars is is suppost to release pressure?? is it suppost to happen on skylines??

the reason i ask is that on my brothers 300zx it makes the sound but not on mine...

i am thinking to myself that i have a small leak somewhere that's releasing pressure in the fuel system

I have terrible hard starting in the morning (but not when its just been driven) which makes me think that when the car stops for a long time the pressure goes and it needs some cranking to build up enough pressure to get the car going enough

has anyone had this issue before?

my thinking at this stage is to buy about 2m of fuel hose and 10 clamps and replace all the fuel lines in the engine bay in case its a hairline crack or a dodgy hose end (eg cracked) or something like that...

what do you think?

cheers,

Warren.

I think in warm climates and with low fuel levels its not unusual , sort of large volume and fuels low vaporisation temperature its inevitable . If your real worried you could check the cars fuel tank breather line and charcol canister for choke points .

As for hard starts , try turning the ignition on and wait briefly for the fuel pump to build a head of pressure on the injectors and then crank . VL Vomitdoors used to do this at times and my DR30 likes to be primed first . Clean injectors and fuel filters dont hurt either .

yeah i already turn it to on for 3-4secs before i crank

and injectors were cleaned earlier in the year

and fuel filter is near-new and the car did this before it was changed

are you able to elaborate more on the fuel tank breather line and where this is and how to check it?

cheers,

Waz.
