OK,

I've decided to rebuild the RB26DETT.

In the meantime though, I'd like to be able to drive the car. Is there much stuffing around in dropping an RB20DET into a BNR32?

if you do it quickly you can rebuild the 26 in 2 weeks

I'm looking to have a friend do the rebuild, meaning it will be in their spare time, meaning it'll be more than 2 weeks.

Is it just a matter of dropping the RB20 in?

Hire a car to drive around , to much work to r+r engine in a gtr , its like 16 hours work , 8 in and 8 out .

Sorry cant tell if rb 20 is a straight fit , i wouldn't think many people would have done it .It's usualy the othrer way around .

The engine is a straight fit (I did a Stagea RB25DET into a GTS4). You'll probably need a new computer as well. It should plug straight in, and connect to the correct (RB20) sensors.

You also need to worry about the 4WD drive shaft (t/fer case -> front diff).
