I am semi-interested in one for R33 gts-t..

but like somebody said.. they're only ~$60 cheaper than normal R33 GTS-t s1 price (these are cheaper than other models).

Can somebody explain why i should be buying one right now to save $60 (meh) rather than just ordering at any other time?

Why has he removed the PFC + Handcontroller package for R33 advertised on there for $1060 delivered about 2 days ago??

If the one on their advertised is $997.85 (current exchange rate as @ today) WITH handcontroller (?) and delivery (?).. what are we saving?

AP engineering version? hope this dosent apply to me
i got a R32 GTS-T and if i can get one definately put me down for one at that price.

I'd be down for that too

Don't forget to cross these off the list, or in fact anybody on the list with an R32.. as you DO NEED the AP engineering version if you have an R32 GTS-T .. come on - you guys should know that!

Predator: as I said in answer to the same question earlier, its about $100 cheaper than normal for an R33 GTS-t unit by the time you add shipping and use the correct exchange rate. As you mentioned, its cheaper again for other models.

Yes it includes handcontroller and shipping.

No offence, but its not my job to convince you :P

I didn't add the R32 GTS-t guys to the list if you check the first post.

2GU UP 2: It should be ok if its one of these..?:

babs: added, and I will keep in touch via SMS or phone.

As for increasing the size of the group buy, lets just be happy if we get 20 people to pay and worry about extras later :D I will now contact Brent to let him know we have the numbers and get some details as to where we go now

Lucien.

The previous price was around $1050.. with whatever the exchange rate was (its better now).. WITH shipping included AND handcontroller.. That was advertised for nearly 2 months.. .and then about 2 days ago that price was removed

13_devil: no problems matey. Suspension is much more important.

[[d a n n y]]: Unless its significantly bigger, I doubt it. There is only so much margin that can be taken off these items.

Anyway, I have emailed Brent. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Lucien.

is it too late to get one now????

ummm

just a quick question if anyone can help me with..

what's the deal with having one of these, if my car only has an exhaust, pod..bov?

like basically what imtrying to ask, is there any use of getting one of these if my car is fairly stock?

I was planning to get one of these in the future when i get more mods..but this deal is too tempting to miss....!!sooo thinking about getting one

hey lwells, all the answers that were directed to ferni, does that apply to an R33 Gts-t s2 as they were referring to the GTR?

umm im on stand-by...still weighing up my options and also checking finances, but when you get the exact cut-off date, ill let you know....have to do some further research first

The same basic theory applies. A PowerFC will basically enable you to make the most of any modifications you make to your car and even on fairly stock cars it allows you much finer tuning possibilities such as achieving ~12:1 air/fuel ratios which will likely net you both fuel and power gains. The more your modify, the more useful the PFC gets, so in that sense its 'future-proof'.

I am not trying to convince you or anyone else to purchase: that's entirely up to you. If you do some searching there should be ample threads to help you makeup your mind :P

Lucien.

yup thanks lucien, i posted a thred up on the forced induction section to get some specific and more detailed advantages....hopefully some experts my give me some advice...

but i am leaning towards getting one..so when u no the cut-off date, let us know

thanks

Hi All,

I am currently in the market for a PowerFC and have noticed a couple of other people are, besides which there always seems to be a demand for these units.

With that in mind, who would be interested in a group buy?

I have spoken to Brent @ Nengun -- who a lot of people have bought parts through over the years -- to get an idea of the discount involved.  Here is what he had to say:

Now obviously there are some considerations:

  • We need 20 people.
  • The exchange rate is a determining factor.
  • The offer is only good for one week.

The benefits, however, are:

  • The units are $987.75: I have never seen new PFCs w/ hand controllers for <$1000.  That's almost AVC-R money.
  • The price includes individual delivery
  • The items are duty exempt
  • Any PFC except the AP Engineering units (and D-Jetro/Pro too I imagine)

Edit: Re GST Charges, this is what Brent had to say:

So, if you interested and have (or will have) the funds available, please say so and include your preferred model.  I may as well start the list:

    • Out here E90s are the cheapest way into a sporty-ish car because everyone knows just how expensive the repairs can get. 8-10k USD for an automatic 335i.
    • Noted. Have noticed BMW are more 'high maintenance' for sure. They've attracted my attention as I think the used car prices seem reasonable vs other options, and the extra quality overall vs a commodore / camry / corolla or similar of the same vintage is appealing, especially the interior, and they are more on the sporty side whereas the others mentioned can be more cruising or economical A-to-B only.
    • Haha yeah I know, this is SAU after all, why are we talking about BMW's of all things!? I hear you on the 'don't have to worry about it' side of things. Having been fortunate enough to be have been able to buy a brand new motorbike or two...never really enjoyed them as much as I'd have liked as you worry so much about where you park it, will it get scratched, stolen, attempted theft, knocked over, etc...and yes dirty. Older less valuable bikes you can just go where you want and park it wherever and not really worry that much in comparison. And who cares if it gets dirty! Never owned a V8, and have had my eyes on VE / VF commodores for years but with their prices climbing so high, the M3 has come into focus more as prices are much closer than I've ever seen...is it a potential contender now?...of course need to factor in the S65 'maintenance' especially and like you said general M car 'tax'. One can dream anyway. But more on the reality front - did read the whole 330i thread as well and was a great read too, both threads enlightening as I've never even driven one of these cars! I do recall 330i didn't seem to have the same amount of issues for almost the same car (turbos and related differences notwithstanding)...perhaps down to getting it earlier in it's life so looked after better than the 335i? Perhaps so as your 130i has been good and quite similar, so finding a car that's been looked after well is the especially-crucial-BMW-first-step.
    • Nice. Dont worry about the time of not running. My current skyline hasn't run since I bought it. About 8 years ago.
    • It's also worth noting that I am heavily and unconditionally biased. I've had a lot of cars including some GTRs a fair while ago. I love my BMW's now a lot. They make no sense a lot of the time and the guys on here remind me regularly that I could get something else that does what I want better and cheaper. If you're going to take on an older BMW it's definitely a commitment. If you bail on it early you'll lose money and also the ability for it to put a smile on your face. Stick with it and it just gets better.  f**k I should get into advertising.
