reco-ing 2nd hand calipers

I'm just about to pick up some R33 calipers, and I'm wondering what should be replaced before I go to the trouble of mounting them? I'm assuming the seals will be perished from lack of brake fluid, pads obviously.... is there a rebuild kit I can purchase, or can someone help with a list of parts to replace? (I've never fiddled with my brakes before, so I'm sort of in uncharted territory)
