Japanese restaurants in melb...

Recommended Posts

you mean Koko's? Silks is a Chinese restaurant at Crown. Koko's is the very upmarket jap place, awesome views, huge prices. Situated on 3rd floor Crown Towers. You won't be disappointed, interior/layout of the restaurant is the best I've ever seen..has a full jap pond/stepping stones inside.

Check out the menu on their site here.

Last time i went it was $60 just on drinks...for 2 people, so it's a bit dear :P

This place is awesome! Have been in one of the private rooms overlooking the yarra. Was stunning!

Koko's you gotta book months ahead dont ya?

Yeah for couples there's only about 2-5 tables overlooking the Yarra - awesome view though. I was lucky and got one booking 3 weeks in advance. Rest of restaurant was 1/2 full (not THAT many people around wanting to blow $35 on a tiny unagi dish). The atmosphere and interior design is awesome. Don't look for waitresses with jap accents though, they're Chinese (at least the few that i saw, including teppanyaki chefs)

There is no doubt Koko at Crown is the best in Melbourne - food, service & surrounds. If money is not an issue don't go anywhere else, the quality is awesome.

Also recommend Hanabishi in King St.

Nah i dont think Koko is the best. To be honest i used to eat there almost everyweek for a few months. Has try a number of food there even the stupid 300gram of meat which cost you $500 per piece. (I am not the person whom handle the bill, my mate company pay for it).

But until one day i try out Hanabishi on King St. It is the best Jap food i ever eat in melbourne.
