Hi guys, I have a 33 Skyline GTST that is producing 380Hp and and was pulled over last week by Traffic Police. I have a top mounted GT35/40 that i have been instructed needs a mod plate. Upon visiting the engineer, we discovered that law states "if the turbo/supercharger does not meet factory specifications it is classified as an engine modification, which requires the approval of fuel system, brakes, gear box, and diff. I do not doubt the the components are strong enough, but in order to get it plated properly i need some kind of paper work confirmation. Does any one know or have access to the Hp limits of these components, or know of a factory produced vehicle producing similar Hp and using the same components? I know Nissan produced the 400R but have been unable to obtain a definate answer as to weather GTST's and GTR's use any of the same running gear/brakes. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Gearbox strength should not be an issue, and even if it was the GTS-T gearbox is as strong as the GTR one. Differential likewise.

The only thing you may need to look at would be the brakes, which would probably require an upgrade to GTR specs or so. Depending on your power levels, there isn't obviously going to be any factory 400hp or so (?) car to base anything on.

You may just need to visit a few more engineers to get their opinion.
