as the title says i'm looking to get a SAFC installed soon (booked in for next tues) but my standard rb20det ecu seems to have no rpm signal, tested twice by 2 sparkies, my question is if the signal can be taken from somewhere else to run a tacho will this same signal work for the running of the SAFC??

thanks guys.....

Hi RSX84, haven't we been through this once already? Tell the auto electrician to test it this way;

ECU pin ----->multimeter------>(+) supply

They will get a signal this way

What they are doing now is;

ECU pin ----->multimeter------>(-) earth

That is wrong and they will never get a signal that way.

I have never ever found a Skyline ECU that has no rpm/tacho output, that always works.

:)

yeah i ended up getting a voltage booster for the signal but it did nothing. thanks again the car goes to another place on tuesday for the safc install and final compliance so i'll just tell them the troubles and let them figure it out??
