I can, but I refuse to be responsible for your car :D

Unfortunately Sam's the only one that will lol. Just make sure you get dyno time too and not just a generic map dump based on your mods.

Yes, well dyno time will be a must to see how the ECU handles the extra displacement of the 3.0L.

I have been in touch with him and look forward to progressing further with it.

The next question is of course, what are the short comings of using a remapped ECU over a good aftermarket ECU aside from extra outputs and traction control etc i.e. stuff I will not use in my 70's Z.

hehe...like the one in your signature you have been advertising for as long as i can remember? :)

Sorry, just kidding. I couldnt help it.

Price of the ECU doesn't matter, my car and most past 1974 are ADR27a compliant and as such will not comply to ADR's with an aftermarket ECU. I have spent to much time and effort on my car to have it not fully engineered and roadworthy. If I wanted a power FC, I am currently living in Japan and they are not hard to get.

Thanks for the input anyway, more is welcome guys.

i've taken a eeprom dump of my old man's RB20DET ceffy, and its addressing is virtually identical to mine (allowing for the fact that his is automatic, and mine's manual). I have the series 2 R32 ECU, along with the sensors, and the PTU off a GTR and Series 1 R33 GTS/GTSt's. I'd assume the GTS25 R32 ECU is the same as mine since it would run the same PTU etc.

could you explain:

PTU = ?

GTS25 R32 = RB25DE ?

and then it would make more sense to me, thanks for the info :)

I picked up an R32 GTST Type-M ecu pretty cheap today, but the problem at home is I have RB25DE sensors and loom. I have heard people have trouble with this combo but i have no concrete info. It is going to be pretty hard to find the GTST EFI loom and sensors for sale on their own I imagine.

PTU = Power Transistor Unit (basically controls your ignition)

GTS25 R32 = RB25DE R32 yes.

With the Type M one, if its a latemodel one (post 1992 to be sure) post Aug 1991 if you wanna take a gamble, it should work with the GTS25DE engine. But then again, without looking at the maps and the actual circuitry I can't tell for sure.

If I was you I'd get an absolutely early model (read 1993) R33 GTS ECU. It uses a PTU exactly the same as an R32 GTS25 wheras the later ones fromt he R33's have a smaller module and most of the control work is done within the ECU.

Interesting...Maybe I just wasted a little bit of cash then.

You dont by any chance have a way of working these things out by the model/serial numbers do you?

Ah geez, I just realised that in my haste I dont know if my ECU is from a AT or MT R32. I have searched the serial number and can confirm it is a Type M but cant confirm AT or MT. Bloody dumb move.

It is a 23710-11U00 MEC-R212 ECU if anyone knows

EDIT: Thank god, acoording to this site:

http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/electr...on_sz_data.html

its a 89-93 MT ECU. I want to confirm though.
