A locked diff increases tyre wear significantly, moreso of a problem if you have excessive neg camber. Also creates a bit of understeer when you're not putting enough power to the ground, and can increase the stress on the rear driveshafts. But it will stop open wheel spinning and evenly distribute power to both wheels.

If you can put up with the increased tyre wear, skipping at low speeds, and increased noise, I don't think you'll have a problem :)
