With all the controversy surrounding the topic of P-plate restrictions the NSW government has put up a website to guage the publics response.

You can have your say on the issue here.

And/or you can contact these ministers here;

Carl Scully, NSW Minister for Roads.

Donald Page, NSW Shadow Minister for Roads.

Eventhough I am 24 and these restrictions wouldn't really affect me, I feel these restrictions (power restrictions, curfews, passenger restrictions) are down right idiotic.

Inexperience (due to lack of proper training) is the cause of most of these accidents and placing restrictions on young drivers is only going to limit their oppertunities to gain much needed experience.

We need to put the focus on L-plate drivers and make sure they recieve adaquate training before being licenced. If a licenced driver can't handle a powerful car (or any car for that matter) than they shouldn't have a licence, plain & simple!

But it's not just P-platers that have to worry about these draconian restrictions,

such restrictions would set a very dangerous precadent to try and ban all modified/performance cars! There's already a bunch of car hating pinko's trying to push for this, stating that we shouldn't have such powerful cars as we are only allowed to 110km/h anyway.

So in closing I would encourage all enthusiasts to fight these restrictions and

BAN LOW PERFORMANCE DRIVERS, NOT HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS!!!

OK, I started reading this thread but couldn't get past the first page due to the fact that certain people take the easy way out (just like the newspapers) and blame Video games and movies. Anyone who is old enough to drive is old enough to know the difference between real and not real. I play those games and watch those movies and guess what..... I still know that if I crash my car chances are something bad will happen. I also plays games like Halo and warcraft 3 and guess what I don't shoot aliens nor do I build a little town and go rape and pillage the next nearest town, movies and games are not the problem, lack of education is.

Fane I agree with you 3 levels of drivers licence sounds like a great idea, mandatory defensive driving courses.

Silver arrowz drifting is cool, it is a recognised motorsport in Japan and now America you have to teach your nephew that there is a time and place (obviously that is not on the street) in controlled areas, don't just tell them it is not good give them resons as to why they shouldn't do it on the street. Now before you all jump donw my throat this was not meant as an attack on anyone, no I am not a P plater, I did not have a high performance car when I was a P plater and yes I have lost friends in car accidents. sorry for the longish post I just figured everyone is entitled to my opnion.
