PS2 cutting out

hey guys,

i bought the new GTA for my ps2 the other day, and after a few days of play it started cutting out, the game would just freeze and have to be reset etc, and now after driving a car for about 15seconds the game freezes. i have been told it may be my laser and it may just need cleaning.

ive heard of complete quides to servicing a ps2 are on the net? has anyone heard of these or do you know whats causing my problem?

im happy to service it myself, i'll just need the info on what to do etc.

you can adjust the lazer voltage that can make it read things a bit easier. if you open up the ps2 the adjustments are at the top of the board. there is one for dvd and one for games. otherwise you can get a microfibre cloth and use some metho on the laser to clean it.
