Exhaust system

i know this is a stupid question, but i dont know as much about cars as most of you guys,

i got a r33 series 1.5, ive got a twin exhaust on it now instead of that i wana put a 3inch apexi or hks muffler on it, can i just change the muffler or do i have to change piping also?

u can just change the muffler, it just gives the sound and it is cheaper, also u can do the whole exhaust and it gives more power, that includes the piping from the cat back, or you can go from the turbo back.

it depends on how much you wanna spend and if u want it for performance or just the sound
