My RSX wears 15x7 and 15x8 Volks , these are very light for their size and help bring the unsprung weight down . Not sure how 11" rims would go on the back , will make tyres expensive (good ones ) . One thing to watch with semi trailing arm IRS is the camber and toe changes through its travel . If you can reduce the body roll to a minimum it helps . What rim diameter and rubber profile were you looking at ie 265 50 16 ?

Not 11", +11.

The specified sizes from RS-Watanabe for the DR30 are as follows (wheel type, size, offset):

F: F8 15-70+21

R: F8S 15-70+15

Based on that info, you should be right, or VERY close to right....

I'll be running 16x7.0" & 16x7.5" F8's on my DR30 when I can affor tyres....

I've got 16*7.0" & 16*8.0" Enkei 7 spokes (dont know the model number and cant be bothered pulling a wheel off to check) +32 on it atm, and Watanabe RS8-2 in 15*6.5" +34 stored away. Just need some SSR Mesh and a set of Volks and then I've got a set of each type of cool rims now lol

they will fit but will stick out from the guards more giving it a phat look, the less the offset is the further out from the centre they will sit..... my rs8s' wantanabes were the some offset as bensDR30 mentioned but 7" at tne front and 7.5" at the rear, the 17" P1's i've got now are 8" at the rear with an offset of 22, just fit no scraping....

Always dramas putting big boots on strut cars with zero scrub geometry . Have you noticed that most late model cars have rims with deep hub sections and spokes that come out a long way before joining up at the outer part of the rim section . Z32's , some R32's and S14/15's had fairly unique wheels to cope with this style geometry and wider four piston brake calipers . There is some serious grip to be had with 205 tyres though , need the right tyres and suspension . I'm using custom wound 185 in/lb front springs and HDT V8 spec Bilsteins front with 195 in/lb rears and std spec Bilsteins plus std roll bars . My caster rods have nolathane front bushes and front strut spherical joint tops . Next mod will be adjustable caster rods and just about as much positive caster as I can get . Cars of the R30 era dont use much caster (compared to current cars) and what tends to happen in hard cornering is this . For a car set up with static negative camber the body rolls away from the inner radius but the camber remains negative meaning the contact patch of the tyre is reduced to the inner part of the tread . The extra positive caster changes the camber from negative to positive on the inside wheel and puts more of the tyre square to the ground . This gives more cornering grip better turn in and more selt straightening . The only disadvantage is higher steering effort but pwr steer handles it ok .

Cheers A .

Anyone using 4piston calipers and have rims that fit? Its a nightmare of mine.I had to fit longer studs, fit spacers and then i can only use a 6.5" rim with a 205 tyre on the front to keep the tyre off the strut.sad me.

The rims on my car are silvia (shudders) offset, i had to use a 25mm bolt on spacer (way over kill) and it all fits with R32 calipers/R33 rotors...What brakes are you using?? Im currently running 215's at the front with no drama's at all and 235's on the back without a hint of rubbing...

Im using S14 200sx brakes,23mm custom spacer and it just fits.I had my strut converted to adjustible hight/coilover with king springs and koni inserts.I have 3.5 degrees negative camber and boy does it turn in!

Affordable longer studs are standard on the R31 GTS and not very expensive , for really long studsyou may need to look into Nizmo bits but very expensive . I wasn't looking but would not like to crash a car with wheel spacers and get caught , Insurance will wipe its hands and the relivant Traffic authority will throw the book at you . Definately not a legal mod and easy to spot if you know what to look for . The right wheels are out there and give handling advantages over incorrect offsets and excess negative camber . Up to you .

Im using R32 calipers and R33 non turbo rotors due to the four stud pattern, but from what i hear now you can get the R33 turbo rotors in a 4 stud pattern from DBA..Prolly cost a bit but worth it because i can throw the spacer away! Im also running S13 coil overs alround (cheers to Crimmo for all this) :)

Hmmm.... well the RE5040's on the front and RE55S on the back seems to be a good mix atm, weren't too bad in the wet/damp in the hills tonight, the 104km/h dinger is freiking annoying and the car definitely still has the speed limiter, though it seems to be off the clock when it hits it, was somewhere near 6000 in 4th? Not sure, wasn't really paying much attention to the dials

    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lymphomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, conjuring more rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
