There's a bloke called Phat32 who wrote into the group buys section who says he can get them for $325.

There hasn't been many reponses though - don't think many people want to go as big as an 044.

I thought you could mount a 044 internally - have read on a few of the forums here about blokes mounting them in tank - looks like it's a bit of a hassle as they're pretty big but can be done???

Anyway - if anyone here has got any practical experience in fitting one of these please enlighten us!

Cheers

edit:

Just did a search and yes, quite a lot of people have mounted 044's in tank.

I can get them to you for $310 each. Dunno how I'd go asking for a group buy, but I can't see the problem. Takes like three days to get them in. I have fitted the 040 in tank with no probs. Takes like half an hour once you pop the boot. I will also do installs for $50 if anyone is interested.

and before anyone starts asking questions...these pumps retail for $525.

and it would cost you around $80-$100 to get them installed(unless of course you do it yourself).

I am also a mechanic in case anyone was worried.

I have done several of these pump installs with no come backs.

Gidday,

Surely we can get 10 skyliners in the Brissy area to get these pumps.

I know what you mean by postage etc - it'd be a lot easier if everyone could just pick up and pay - no stuffing around with banking/postage.

Cheers!

won't make any difference unless your existing one is rooted..

About all I noticed was a tiny bit better throttle response, although this could have been my imagination.

installed another pump literally an hour ago.. although that one was a walbro which is tiny. Its an easy process (even easier in R32 as well!)

Well I'd actually go Bosch.. unless you really want to save money to spend on other things (like me). Walbro is fine for 250rwkw or so apparently. You hear conflicting reports though on how good they are. At $180 or whatever I paid, worth trying for a while.

From another forum.. there were some walbros for $160. I just bought one for 165 from someone I knew in up in brissy. :D
