Injectors & Fuel rail back on....air bubble(s)? and what to do....?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I am about to put the fuel rail and injectors back on/in to my RB20DET after replacing the injector plugs.....now I emptied the fuel rail so I wouldn't get petrol everywhere (obviously :D) when doing the rewiring and etc....but realised when I put it all back in the head...there is going to be a big air bubble.....what should I do about it? is it ok to leave and let it "drain" into the chamber and out the exhaust? or do I need to bleed/prime the fuel and fill up the fuel rail?

Thank for your help guys, much appreciated!

Corey.

Corey;

just turn the ignition on and get pressure into the line because you'll want to check for leaks before firing the engine. the air will purge and while it might take a second while air gets out of the injectors and the line in total it should be almost instantaneous. don't forget you're dealing with quite a bit of pressure here.
