need help with old school avcr on gtr

Ive just bought a r32 gtr and its got a very old apexi avc-r in it, the problem was that some one had cut one on the hoses coming out of the solinoid and the car was hiting like 20psi so ive plumed it into a vacum hose, now the car is hiting about 12psi no matter how the controler is adjusted and when i turn off the controller it hits huge boost again . I cant find out any about these ebc so if anyone has had any experience with these, your help would be very much appreciated.
