Ok during last week i went in to get a pinkslip for my skyline. The guy failed it because the rear tyres are to low. Now i didnt think it needed new tyres so i got my trusty tyre depth guage and measured them. The minimum tread depth on both of the rear tyres was 4mm. I know they are low and will need replacing in the near future but im not going to buy a new set of 265/40r18's until i have got the max wear out of them. Is there anywhere i can find the regulations for the pinkslip check on the net? I can only find the vehicle standards information sheet on the NSW rta website but not anything specifically relating to the roadworthy check as i want to print the out and take them back to the mechanic who failed my car.

Thanx.

The tyres were well above the wear marks. This was a few days after the EVLR34 crash and the guy and a few times while arguing with him he said "im not letting those tyres pass on a car like that". Anyone took it somewhere else today and they guy passed it, said the tyres were fine.
