Hi guys, trying to track down the specs for the following following fluids in the car so I can change them:

- gearbox oil

- diff oil

- clutch cylinder oil

- engine oil

- power steer oil

I cant find anywhere that lists the specs of what the factory recommends (viscosity etc). I think i will go Mobile 1 5-50 for the engine, and Mobile 1 75W-90 for the diff and gearbox if I cant find any more details. I guess for the clutch cylinder/power steer I use standard powersteer oil.

I am just going to use generic coolant for the cooling system, and generic brake fluid too.

Anyone know where the factory specs/recommended specs are?

Ta

Conrad

I use Mobil 1 0W40, super thin stuff and works well. It's not the same as the stuff you get from K Mart, it's about $16/L but worth it. Try your local Mobil wholesaler, not a servo.

Use the highest temp brake fluid you can find. Castrol SRF is the top stuff but too exxy. ATE make a blue one which is very good. Don't use a silicon one as you will have to change all your seals over before you use it.

For the clutch just use the same brake fluid.

I'll try and dig out the gearbox and P/Steering specs.

i reckon both 5W50 and 0W40 are a little thin. i use 10W40 AGIP oil for the engine. redline shockproof for the gearbox. std power steering fluid for ps. never changed diff oils...

having said that my cars a little thrashed so i go for thicker/designed for 'worn' mechanical part oils

For gearboxes?

Quite a few places flog the stuff, as with all things shop around.

You may find the likes of Chris Mills and southside etc might stock it a little cheaper than the riceboy tuners.
