JNR 32r, laugh it off. Im not trying to prove anything as it wasnt my car. Just stating the facts. If you were from qld, you would of known about the car. I sold it to a guy down south. Another 32, built by his brother in law, which think was forsale on here, made 350rwhp with stock injectors. An r32 with 220rwkw should be running around the 112mph mark. With 260kw, 116-120mph. And if you know a thing or too about drag racing, your time is in your 60ft and 330ft.

oh btw, you can not expect those times on st tyres. Slicks were used.

The car had a td06 turbo on it, we had issues of blowing turbo gaskets cos it was just mated up to the stock manifold with an adapter plate.

It can be done, its about the set up.

h.

roy mate i will be using the gt30r, the one with those specs which is the same core specs as the hks3037s

should be starting it tomorrow, need to tune it roughly and drivable, then off to JEM for the fine tune

i have:

autronic ecu 550cc rx7 series 5 injectors 044 pump CPC plenum port polished head/manifold 1mm oversized valves hks valve springs gt30r 38mm tial wastegate

hopefully i should get around the 240-260rwkw mark

is that on a RB20 or RB30 bottom end?

either way you should be able to get more than that ... but i guess its good to aim low and get a pleasant sorprise...

Any of you blokes considered Water/meth injection?

Mafia's had some pretty decent results from his rb25 GT3076r .63.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t=0&start=0

295rwkw on 18psi. There's more in it as it can take more boost and is well below the detonation threshold as it makes max torque on min timing well before detonation is seen. I think he mentioned another 4 degree's past max torque before he sees det.

Troy? Cheaper than a rebuild. :P

A bloke here in SA I only found out uses WI to keep his stock rb30 alive on 470rwkw.

Meh. WI injection. Enough trouble doing a simple thing like squirting fuel and lighting for it to go bang. As soon as i try to squirt water etc in there i will end up with the wrong type of bang.

No doubt it can work and was popular last century. But fuel quality, head and conbustion chamber design etc means its not a must have so dont buy the whole WWII bombers used it etc

It appears people see gains of 40rwkw with WI.

r33_racer on his race car (rb30det, cams, plenum, exhaust manifold) saw ~328rwkw with the GT3040 .82 with vpower racing and no WI. With WI turned on they were able to push 370rwkw.

Mafia... GT3076 on stock exhaust manifold, stock plenum with 98ron saw a gain of ~40rwkw with WI turned on.

For the outlay of ~$800+ for a 'good' WI setup you get to retain your current response/spool yet with increased power every where.

Next time I see darren (470rwkw stock bottom end) I'll see what sort of power gain he saw with WI.

40thou oversize aries pistons

25 crank make it rb2.1ltr

ported and polished head

hks cams and cam gears

performance valve springs

garrett gt3040r turbo

hks low mount manifold

3" hks zorst

hybrid front mount

cai to standard airbox

550 sard injectors

Hey i should of asked this before but what is the redline... What will it be when the motor is fully run in?

Got a number in mind?

Troy style ~8000rpm or you gonna keep it a little lower?

Or can it go higher?

un believable... i just read all 69 pages in one sitting HAHAHAH. as troy said it's amazing to see how far everyone has come over the past couple years

i hope to have good results with my setup here shortly. Carl H and I are putting an RB20 in my FC RX7 >_< i'm a big fan of lag so i will be using a decently large turbo. i'll post updates as they happen

-zac

If your gonna put a decently large turbo on it you gonna do the engine rebuilt first or afterwoods ?????

MADGT4,the redline is still set for 7800rpm atm once I figgered out the top end leaning out problem I'll get the tune redone but atm in in no hurry got plenty balls once it comes on boost now, so learning how to drive it all over again .

I've always been of the opinion that when the engine is tuned, at add 300rpm after it reaches max power so the old engine droped of power at 7500rpm thats why i set rev limit at 7800rpm for gear change loss.If the new engine makes power to 8000rpm I will just add 300rpm to that for rev cut ,the new engine's been built to take the rev's I beleive though I think the lifters run out of effeciancy at about 8000rpm .

Cheers Peter

the plan is to throw it in there as is, get the turbo setup together and working, probably gonna go with a microtech ecu, tune the bitch and run it till she lets go. then i will probably do a good rebuild/ overbore :/

it's just something different and should be great for the road course!

oh and by decently large turbo i mean probably a gt30/40r.... which will be weird because my rx7 at the moment has a 70mm turbo on it with a bridgeported 13b :/ i'll definitely be stepping down in the power world for now, but it will be a lot more fun, better on fuel, and believe it or not.. more reliable :)

there are a shit ton of people here with RB20's running around beating the shit out of them making decent power every day. i've pulled my 13b 3 times in the past 6 months ahhahahaha

jnr32r: its an rb20 bottom end, had it running and done a bit of road tuning, feels really good and im only on 10psi, had a squirt of 15psi with low 11:1 high 10:1 air/fuel ratios and full boost hit at about 3800-4000rpm, off boost drivability is improved with the CPC short runner plenum although is still a little doughy because of 3.45:1 geared VL LSD

happy with it so far

Hi guys, massive thread, I read up to page 12 and then skipped. I have an article from fast 4s I think where a stock RB20 in a 32 is pulling 300 rwkw'ish :P , I'll try and find it in my magazine stack.

Anyway, I've got a pretty stock R32 with a 3.5" turbo back exhaust, FMIC, 040, turbotech pneumatic bleeder. I've ordered a hypergear TR43 turbo and I'm planning a remap at speed lab. With the standard injectors and AFM, what do you guys recommend I do? I was just going to tell Geoff to see how much power it could make with safe air fuel ratios and then back it off a little just to give it a chance to tackle any boost spikes etc. I was hoping to get a reliable 200 rwkw running around 1 bar, what do you guys think?

Pushing it to 200rwkw on standard injectors and afm probably won't be a very good idea...best option would still be to go for slightly larger injectors and a z32/q45 afm for more tuning resolution...

Hi Guys

Car went back to the tuners yesterday to sort out the leaning problems out and tune after fixing them ,First problem we found was the fuel cap was non venting and the second was the fpr had a blockage in it so had to have a complete new tune.Running a lot better now lot more responsive but never tried to make more power as it seems I'm pushing the limmits of the stock plenum as it is and 306rwkw is all I want atm so leaving that alone .Tuner says its a nice conservitive tune for the engine now not pushing any limmits on injectors or boost though we uped the low boost from 12 psi to 13psi and that seemed to fix the spiking we had there and its making 240rwkw at that so all in all very happy with the result .

Sorry dont have the new dyno graph left it behind but its near the same as the old one execpt a better fuel ratio but power was the same

Cheers Peter

You don't have to spend that much either - my cooling mist kit was cheaper than that and has eliminated knock. I like their controller better than Mafia's and they now do the same 200+ psi pumps that his kit offered not that you need them. Will be doing a heap more fine tuning soon now as have a datalogit - from my experience a must if you've got a pfc.

Cheers

bit of an update on things over here. had the car retuned last week and this time with the intention of making a solid big figure

the motor is still untouched, no cams nouthing *head definatly isnt moddified as we had the inlet plenum off to replace a gasket*

on 26psi we pumped out a solid 405.1 hp on a dd dyno in shootout mode. BP ulitmate fuel with no additives running low 11-10 afrs through the revs

http://i12.tinypic.com/5yrbymb.jpg

im working on getting a bigger pic that was just from my phone

AD4M,

Damn respectable numbers there.

Are you running an aftermarket plenum?

Reason I ask is I've been using Performance Trend Engine Analyzer and playing with cams and inlet manifold tuning.

Everything what I've seen on the dyno with the rb30det when running an aftermarket plenum reflects what the Engine Analyzer sim calculates.

A very very slight loss of low end until it gets some boost in to it; of which is easily tuned out with a set of adj cam gears. Once the low end has been picked back up there still exists a respectable top end improvement. Power holds much better and doesn't simply nose over.

For example.. The RB30/25 with all the correct runner, port, valve, exh manifold turbo etc measurements done has more low and low/mid than the 2JZ running the same turbo. Shorten the runners by ~1/4 of the total length with the same spec cams and the power curve is near identical.

I'll have to play with the RB20DET's setup and see if it likes a shorter runner plenum or not.

What turbo are you running? GT3076r? .82?

He is running a T^D06-20G though with the 16am housing. I can see there being a few kws more in my setup. But i dougbt i could make more then 275rwkws. The bigger housing must really help the little 20G make more top. The 8cm housing im running is tiny :)
