hicas

i know that hicas steering is wen 4 wheels steer when travling at high speeds.

anyway, on my r32 gtst,a orange light (saying hicas) pops up, near were the speedometer is. usually happens only wen i start the car, stays on for like 5 mins, then goes off. then it turns on and off sometimes for no reason, but not while im tavling at high speeds.

is this something i should worry about? or its nothing important. thanks.

i think its supposed to come on when you start your car but im not sure my 89 gtst doesnt have the light come on at all but then its also got an aftermarket steering wheel and im not sure if that has sumthing to do with it

Easiest thing to check is your power-steering fluid level, know where that is?? A low fluid level is one of many things that will make the HICAS light annoy you. The HICAS system does have it's own diagnostics mode that you can run and it will tell you what it's not happy about - do an Internet search for it as I can't remember it off the top of my head...
