GTR Fuel Pump

I've heard that the standard ECU runs two speeds on the stock fuel pump. Can anyone confirm this either way ?

The standard wiring has a relay in it to switch from 12v to 6v (or something along those lines). You apparantly cannot run aftermarket pumps off the same wiring.

I think the problem is that the wiring can't handle the current load of a big pump like an 044hence the need for a new circuit.

Also the Bosch is designed to run at one constant voltage not varying, or so ive been told

Yes the Bosch 044 is a 15 Amp pump, I was just considering using the wiring from the stock pump to switch a relay to run the Bosch. But if the voltage is changing I will have to think it though a bit more.

After having many a problem lately (and swapping fuel pumps like underpants) - the standard GTR pumps run a 12v - 8v switch. This can be converted to run constant 12v by earthing one of the wires (can't tell you exactly which one though). It's not a major, you just need to find out which wire to earth.
