what ratio is the stagea front and rear diffs?

what ratio is a r32 gtr?

and a 33 gtr?

how can i tell them apart?

cause ive got a gtr sump modified and its got the gtr front diff in it still and i was wondering whether it was the same as the stagea one so it matches the diff one ;)

thanks

Brad

I thought Stageas where the same as GTS4's, and the autos are different.

Best to count the rotations of the drive shafts versus the input shaft. That will tell you the ratio and only take a few minutes.;)

rs4 rs4v 25gfour etc all seem to have 4.3

rs4s 260rs seem to have 4.1

we had a rs4s rear subframe that we put in our converted car, as far as we can see its identical to our gtr ones (electric hicas etc)

the 260 and the rs4s subframes are narrower than the normal non hicas subframe in the stagea tho, so you will want spacers on the wheels

hope that makes sence

okay have heard of rs4 and rs4v but what is an rs4s? Is that a manual version or something, ie the 1998 onwrds series 2? Just have never seen reference to an rs4s edition. What is different in the spec?

thanks saft.

PS any luck on the exhaust bits as yet?

ahha, cool on the rs4s spec. No dramas on the zorst. thanks for trying though dude. I'm in no rush, probably will get it sorted out at some stage, but if by chance you come across the bits required to complete the set, just PM me through SDU or something, I'm on there more than here obviously, but I'll find the PM here anyway. cheers and have a great break.

The build plate on my RS4V states a final drive of RC 40, which tells me it's an R200 @ 4.083:1. This data corresponds to what is printed on page 108 or the 2003 Nismo catalogue:

WGNC34 4WD ~'98/8;

RB25DET R200 (or R200V), 4.083:1

RB26DETT R200 4.111:1

from Aug 98 onwards;

RB25DET M/T R200V 4.111:1

RB25DET A/T R200 (or R200V) 4.083:1

RB26DETT R200 4.111:1

The shortest diff available was in the 4WD RB25DE '98/8~ at 4.363:1

The R32/33 GT-R's are listed at 4.111:1, while the R34 is a 3.545:1 !!!

well i pulled my stagea front diff apart and the diff crown wheel says LS48:11

and what i beleive is a gtr front diff (my enlarged sump) i checked the crown wheel and it said LS37:9

does this mean 4.11 for the stagea?

and 3.79 for the gtr? (might possibly be a sump from a gts-4 ??)

any ideas guys???

The first number is the number of teeth on the crown wheel. The second number is the number of teeth on the pinion, so..........

48 divided by 11 = 4.363636364

37 divided by 9 = 4.111111111

Hope that helps :(

It's interesting that you have a 4.3 front diff, what does your build plate say for the final drive ratio?

(it will be 'RC xx')

and also to SK thanks for that info mate it definetely helps :(

well 4.3 will be better for take off i suppose and possibly explains the bad fuel economy on stock rs4 stag's, possibly mine may have been changed

whats everyone elses build plate say for RC..????
