hey guys, just need to change the radiator fluid in my dads stateman for him, i learnt a bit about how to do it the other day thanks to Jayce and ed, i take it there is a plug i pull out to drain it? then i just mix the fluid and distilled water according to the bottles instructions, then top up the radiator, then turn the car on to get it flowing through, then top it up again?

any more info or anything i have wrong?

now the only prob is how to get the stuff out, i can see a hose at the bottom but no plug hmmm, damn dinosaur technology i should be able to figure it out, unless........OMG...IM DUNMBER THAN A DINOSAUR!!!!???? a DUM-OSAUR?

I dont see why you'd have to use the plug?? When we drained my radiator we just un plugged the hose, then just let it all run out, then once this is done, shuv the hose in the top, and let the water run threw the radiator, then push the hose back on (once u feel its clean, and all the waters drained out again), mix the fluid up, put it into the radiator, turn the car on, and leave the cap off the top, and wait for the car to reach opperating temp (there abouts) and check that the water is still right up the top of the raditor. Put the cap back on, and your set to go...

hope this helps!

sounds good! searched on calais turbo and got some decent advice, ive taken the major bottom radiator hose off let it drain, flushed it with water, and will re-connect it and re-fill it, basically exactly what you said.

Also.... dayne is right there... but you have to flush out the whole system. ie Radiator, block, heater box..

So disconnect the radiator hoes to drain it out, and also disconnect one of the heater hoeses.. Turn the heater knob to "HOT" if electrical find the heater tap in the heater hose line and manually hold it open... then stick to water hose up the heater hoses and radiator hoses and flush it out in every direction until the water is clear.

Hope you understand that... maybe :S

Any probs ... just let me know, im willing to help

Have fun... oh yea... once you have flushed it...connect the hoses back up. mix the 100% coolant to a 3rd with water..

1part coolant 2part water :)

and fill it up...

leave the radiator cap off, turn the car on and let it heat up (get the air buybbles out) should be right when the coolant in the radiator is hot... Just stick your finger in there... (you should know how to do that part :D)

Goodluck
