SS8_Gohan
some of the Euro cars on full howl would probably receive a letter if cops thought it was a Jap car. Seen some Maserati's boot it, as well as some Ferrari's, noisey shit... just a different note.... but decibel wise i wouldn't imagine there would be much in it compared to an aftermarket exhaust on a turbo Skyline. Shit, some of these cars have V12's.... what you need are some of the Euro boys to get letters, the dudes on like $200K+ a year, if those sought of ppl are pissed off, shit happens... Ah.... just looking at what K posted up.... no ECU, only 1 intake mod, no boost controllers.... WTF?? I didn't know that, and looking at what most ppl have done to their cars?? - looks like garages don't seem to care as they are happy to put all this stuff in our cars... Ant97GTR
So does all this mean that those harley bikes and BA turbo falcons with the OFFICAL exhaust upgrade are going to get done by the EPA as well as my pride and joy????? ....yeah right, lets just say I'm not going to hold my breath Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/58977-new-laws-4-epa/page/2/#findComment-1133664 Share on other sites
SKY031
Motor bikes & trucks are subject to different EPA rules than cars. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/58977-new-laws-4-epa/page/2/#findComment-1133791 Share on other sites
hellrazorette
Saw a P Plater driving a FERRARI the other day And a few other P platers in Supras later on.. just lovin the school holidays : I've heard QLD are more lax, for eg you can have both a Pod filter & intercooler legally... apparently they don't really pull over imports.. is that true? Why don't you guys just get an engineers cert for all your mods? Or at least most of them..? It's cheaper than actually buying the mod in the first place, right? SKY031
Most of the mods that people want to do can't be engineered. ECU BOV aftermarket cooler & pod etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/58977-new-laws-4-epa/page/2/#findComment-1134737 Share on other sites
JAPCAB
with the amounts of canaries/epa's being handed out...your best bet is to invest in some stock gear which goes cheap you can pick it up from the forums (stock exhaust/bov, rip out PFC etc) and stock up your car for a while until the heat blows over! At least you can drive around without getting defected and save up some cash.....who knows maybe i'm just unlucky with the canaries i've copped way too many and enough is enough....i'm sick of the fkn cop lights in my rear view mirror Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/58977-new-laws-4-epa/page/2/#findComment-1135104 Share on other sites
Downforce
Perhaps if you didnt drive around areas which are commonly targeted by cops and also dont post up threads abusing a certain member then you wouldnt get so much attention from them ? Just a thought. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/58977-new-laws-4-epa/page/2/#findComment-1135153 Share on other sites
