generally speaking, electronic are better because it's usually minimises spiking and you get the ease of adjusting the boost in cabin. You also get other little extras (depending on the EBC) like overtake boost (or scramble mode), boost readings etc. When setup right, they are great and worth the money in my opinion, however you do get the odd people that either dont set it up right or just have trouble without explanations and go to the cheaper bleed valve and have 100% success. But if the budget stretches, i reckon it's worth it, since a second hand EBC can be picked up between $300 - $400 (again depending on brand).

I learnt the hard way

Turbo Smart single stage = Bad spiking(read 4psi) and did'nt hold boost good(read 2psi up and down)Now this to me means it's a pile on shit and should'nt even be put on a tractor!

Greddy Profec B = Orsam boost control with no spike(depends how you set it) and yer just orsam.Best $290 I ever spent.

Check out the autospeed pneumatic setup.. It works well and is fairly cheap.

OR.. mod your actuator bracket or rod to allow boost adjustment that way.

My bleeder that was a home-brand job never used to spike BUT it used to drop boost in the higher rpm's. It only allowed an extra 2.5psi extra over what the actuator was rated at.

I had a bleeder and did a dyno run recording boost, then installed the HKS IV and did another dyno run. The curves for boost were identical.

Having said that, the electronic boost controller does give you ease of adjustment, hi/lo settings, scramble mode and a boost gauge.
