strange wirring/turbulance/whistling after fmic fitted

hey guys,

just had a fmic fitted to my car and since then i hear this not mega loud but audible wirring/whistle sound from the front of the car. it doesnt appear to be boost/rpm related as i can drive at 50km/h in netruel, engine at idle and it makes the same noise. noise seems to go away after speed is about 25km/h or less. any more and you can hear it. hard to hear above 100 but its probably there. boost seems ok, car runs fine and no wierd effects. the sound changes pitch as speed increase, only slightly though

any ideas??

even at -700mmhg vacuum in idle, travelling at 50km/h an hour i still have the noise

maybe wind is passing through your altered front, creating a whistling noise? thats if there is no detrimental effects at all

have somebody rev it while your under the bonnet or spray soapy water around fmic piping and hoses if it bubbles then its leaking.

maybe there is some part of the fmic installation (core, pipes) touching another part of the car and you are hearing some sort of harmonic vibration if thats the correct way of puting it.

I had the same problem and it was the pipe from the AFM to turbo(Stainless not rubber)sitting flush on the powersteering pump outlet.It made a whirring noise also,so maybe see if one of the cooler pipes is rubbing on it.

Is the FMIC kit the type with a crossover pipe like mine below?

If it is it COULD be your fan hitting on the underside of that pipe, minde did that and i just pushed that pipe further in the to rubber hosing connecting it to the top pipe, and generally manipulated it until it didn't happen any more.
