SAU Down this morning???

Was SAU hackde this morning? I tried to logon and got some weird message up until about 10:30...

No still bad having all sorts of trouble this morning,

1)"this page has been defaced"

2) new posts section has only one thread in it

3) "access denied" to fourum index WTF?

4) really slow and other random stuff

sau, ns and boostcruising are all hosted in the same datacentre. There was an exploit that was used last night at around 3am, resulting in a message showing up on all 3 forums.

Fixed now as far as SAU is concerned.

So was it hacked or was it a virus/worm?

worm..

it exploits a flaw in versions of php 4.x - allows the worm to hack its way in via forum software and bring down sites. its basically a problem with php itself, and therefore many things that rely on it (e.g. most dynamic websites) can be at risk..
