ix9
Hey guys, I want to get custom plates on my upcoming R33, I don't like the standard full size WA plates at the back or the front (too ghey) To anyone that has custom plates, what size do you have ? I understand there is 1/4 size, 1/2 size, 3/14 size and normal size.. I'm thinkin of getting 1/4size at the front, and 3/4 size at the rear. this sound about right ? -Kym Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5937-custom-plates-on-r33-size/ Share on other sites
Boostzor
Ahh dont wanna let the wind outta ure sails but imho these are some bad points with personal pl8s. 1/ ppl recognise the car wether its good guys (cops) or bad guys (theives) ure better off remaining anonymous. 2/ they (like everything) cost money which could be put to better use under the bonnet. 3/ U run the risk of gettin the pl8s i had planned:lol: my $0.02 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5937-custom-plates-on-r33-size/#findComment-89854 Share on other sites

Cake
slimline at front, normal size at rear any plate smaller looks weird at the back, since there is a big ugly space what the big jap plates need. SeriesIIGTST
Not entirely true. You can have slimline at the back, you just have to make up a plate which covers the massive space left there and also to cover the big nut which holds the rear bar on. Have a look at mine next time you see me (bring on the next crooze!) to see what the hell i'm talking about. Cheers! SeriesIIGTST
I don't know what the story with the sticker type number plates are. I know that in order to get 3/4 size or 1/2 size plates you can only have a certain number of charaters on your plate. Mine had too many thus had to pay maximum $$ for polycarbonate as well. Boostzor: Nope, wasn't me in Kings Park. Sorry. I was totally asleep at that time! Strich9: I know it's not 100% official but is that car from Melville Auto Imports? Think I saw one line it there when I drove past the other day. slayer
If you get the slimline ones at the front and normal at the back - does the rear one use the same letters as the front and what colours is it? I was looking at getting the $110 slimline (the one where you dont get to choose the letters) so I get a slim plate up front to minimise airflow disruption to the intercooler, but the fullsize plate would look better at the back, depending on the style. Or is it a full custom choice to get the slimline and fullsize plate (eg expensive) ? Guest GR33DyMANGO
i ordered some plates a few weeks ago. this is what i understood. u can get those slimline plates for 110 or so bucks but they choose the letters. both plates are slimline. or u can u the slimline plate where u can choose 2 numbers and 2 letters. both plates are slimline. or u can get custom plates for 275 bucks(steel). u can choose the colour and size. there are about 14 different colours to choose from. front and back plates can be different sizes. u can track down the wa licensing centre online to get all the details. i think i searched "custom plates wa." hope that can help.
